For Formula 1's 75th anniversary, Selfridges handed The Corner Shop on Oxford Street to F1 75. Rule One collaborated on the design, then project managed, built, delivered and installed it.
The space mixes racing heritage with the feel of a collector's lounge: walnut-clad walls and display joinery, a 'Vintage' wall of jackets and helmets, a curved walnut counter, Persian rugs, and a red tiled plinth stacked with vintage TV screens between two oversized speaker horns.
At its centre sits a yellow Lotus Formula 1 car, rolled in from the street on a ramp and set on a timber platform facing the window. Until the reveal, the windows were blacked out with F1 75 graphics announcing the opening.
Client: Selfridges × Formula 1 · Location: The Corner Shop, Selfridges, Oxford Street, London · Scope: Design collaboration, project management, build, delivery, installation
