Fenwick - Newcastle Christmas Windows

Christmas window displays, designed and built in London

Rule One designs, builds and installs Christmas window displays for department stores and luxury brands. Everything is made in our East London workshop and installed by our own crews, ready for the reveal.

Our Christmas work includes Fenwick's windows at the Newcastle flagship, which we designed and developed in 2022 and delivered again in 2023; Christmas windows for Liberty and Stella McCartney; and Disney x Swarovski's crystal-lit windows at The Corner Shop, Selfridges.

What we build

Full window schemes

A connected story across a run of windows, from concept and development to the reveal, as with Fenwick in Newcastle.

Hero pieces and sculpture

Oversized characters and objects, like the fawn and the giant glittering rose under a bell jar for Disney x Swarovski.

Props and set dressing

Hand-made props, planting and dressing that finish a scheme up close.

Moving displays

Mechanisms built and tested in the workshop, like the conveyor we engineered for KIKO Milano.

Rollouts across stores

One scheme built to repeat consistently across several windows or stores, as we do for UGG across Europe.

Out-of-hours installation

Installed by our own crews around trading hours, ready for the reveal.

How it works

  1. Brief early

Christmas schemes are usually developed months before the reveal. Bring the concept or the problem, and we'll develop it into drawings, materials and a programme that works back from your reveal date.

  2. Build and test

Everything is made and finished in our East London workshop, so each piece is complete and checked before it reaches the store.

  3. Install and reveal

Our crews install out of hours, in London and beyond, with transport through our sister company, Super Logistics.

Questions we're asked

When should we brief you for Christmas windows?

As early as you can. Larger schemes are usually developed months before the reveal; send your reveal date with the brief and we'll tell you what's realistic.

Do you design Christmas windows as well as build them?

Yes. We designed and developed Fenwick's 2022 Christmas scheme, and we also build to designs from your own VM team or agency.

Do you work outside London?

Yes. Fenwick's Christmas windows are in Newcastle, and we've installed retail work across the UK and Europe.

Can you install while the store is trading?

Yes. We install out of hours and work around live stores, as we did for the Selfridges and Rough Trade record shop.

What does a Christmas window cost?

It depends on the number of windows, the scale of the hero pieces and any movement or lighting. Give us a budget range with your brief and we'll tell you what it buys.

Planning something? Tell us what, where and when.
